Selecting sealants for a fire-rated system

Use the documented fire-stopping detail for the actual opening or joint. A sealant label alone does not establish that an entire penetration arrangement matches the project's required evidence.
Define the selection
Fire-related performance must be checked for the documented application and complete assembly. Obtain project-specific confirmation from the responsible professional; this note does not select a compliant system or authorise a substitution.
Check before comparing products
- Tested joint or penetration arrangement.
- Substrate, opening and backing material.
- Installation detail and evidence record.
Build a material list that can be checked
Record the selected product name or SKU, each required size and the quantity for each work area. Use the actual listed coverage when estimating packs or boards, and confirm the allowance with your installer. Include compatible accessories and keep a copy of the agreed selections.
Browse related building materials · Estimate material quantities · Ask MY META about your material list. Collection and freight arrangements must be confirmed separately.
