Cavity battens: coordinating the wall build-up
Confirm the specified batten system with the chosen cladding before preparing quantities. Work through the support, fixing and junction details with the designer so the cavity arrangement is coordinated with the complete wall.
Define the selection
Work from the selected system and elevation drawings. Record the nominated material and the compatible support, fixing and accessory requirements, then ask the designer or manufacturer to resolve any detail that differs from the published arrangement.

- Framing and fixing interfaces.
- Openings, drainage and termination details.
Build a material list that can be checked
Record the selected product name or SKU, each required size and the quantity for each work area. Use the actual listed coverage when estimating packs or boards, and confirm the allowance with your installer. Include compatible accessories and keep a copy of the agreed selections.
