Acoustic and standard plasterboard: system comparison

Compare the specified wall or ceiling assemblies, not only the board names. Ask how the proposed sheet, framing, insulation and junction details address the acoustic brief, and confirm what changes are permitted before substituting a product.
Define the selection
Separate the intended room outcome from the product label. Ask which test, assembly or mounting information is relevant to the design, and have the room-specific arrangement checked by a suitably qualified adviser.
Check before comparing products
- Acoustic brief and assembly reference.
- Board, frame and insulation combination.
- Junctions, openings and installation detail.
Build a material list that can be checked
Record the selected product name or SKU, each required size and the quantity for each work area. Use the actual listed coverage when estimating packs or boards, and confirm the allowance with your installer. Include compatible accessories and keep a copy of the agreed selections.
Browse related building materials · Estimate material quantities · Ask MY META about your material list. Collection and freight arrangements must be confirmed separately.
