Shower-area wall linings: defining the complete system

Use the shower area's documented lining and waterproofing arrangement when preparing a material list. Ask the responsible installer to identify the approved substrate, joints and penetrations; do not assume a water-resistant board is a complete shower system.
Define the selection
Coordinate the lining decision with the responsible wet-area and finishing trades. Request the current installation guide for the selected product and have the project-specific interfaces confirmed before preparing quantities.
Check before comparing products
- Nominated wet-area substrate.
- Waterproofing, joints and service penetrations.
- Compatible fixings and finished surface.
Build a material list that can be checked
Record the selected product name or SKU, each required size and the quantity for each work area. Use the actual listed coverage when estimating packs or boards, and confirm the allowance with your installer. Include compatible accessories and keep a copy of the agreed selections.
